Come and help us plant native trees on Bribie Island to commemorate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. Bring your kids and grandkids - let's make this a community event for the whole family!
When and where
08 Oct 2022, 9:00 am
Ernest Sendall Park, 91-103 Kangaroo Ave, Bongaree QLD 4507, Australia
About the event
As part of the Queen’s Jubilee Planting Scheme, BIEPA has been awarded a grant to plant 50 trees. The grant specifies shade trees, so the trees will already be well established and each will need two people to lift, so we encourage able-bodied people to come along and help plant these trees. There will be plenty of non-lifting work to do too!
We'd love this to be a fun community event for all the family so that kids can watch the trees they helped to plant grow into a flourishing native ecosystem, filled with insects, birds, and other creatures.
Please register for this event to receive reminders and updates by email, and so we can quickly check you in on the day.
On the day, please wear sun-safe clothing (long sleeves, long pants) and do bring a hat, gloves and a water bottle. Volunteers will need to sign in, as they do for council bushcare events, so that we're adhering to health and safety regulations.
We will begin the day with an acknowledgement of country and a briefing of the morning’s planting process. We hope participants will stay after the planting for a congratulatory morning tea, and to admire their handiwork.
We look forward to hosting this event and making it a fun and productive morning.
